Toddler-PreS-It's Christmas Eve at Granny and Grandpa Pig's house, and Peppa and her brother, George, are in the holiday spirit. The siblings make wishes: George for a dinosaur and Peppa for "an adventure with a Christmas elf." Readers follow Peppa and George through a festive family evening that includes riding a train and a Ferris wheel, and then going sledding. At each stop, Peppa looks for a Christmas elf's red hat. But each time she thinks she's found it, something or someone else appears instead of an elf. When Peppa wakes up on Christmas morning, she finds a toy elf on top of the tree. Young readers will be familiar with waiting during Christmastime, and the familiar characters, font, and digital art of Peppa Pig will draw them in. VERDICT A festive Christmas wish story that all lovers of Peppa Pig will enjoy.-Kelly Richards
